Jennica & Matthew Geddert's Ramblings

Rainy, Cold, Miserable, And Loving Every Second

On our first night in London, we checked into our hotel at Victoria station and boarded a double-decker bus for a tour of the city. The cockney-accented driver showed us the sights of Westminster and the city of London, continuously offering fun tidbits as we went. I particularly enjoyed the way he interacted with the kids. "Toilet? There's no toilet. This is a bus!"

Shortly after we set out, a light drizzle sent most of the people on the top story to the bottom. We were pleased with the absence of two particularly noisy children as we could hear the narration more clearly. We saw it "all" - Parliment, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, the London Bridge, the London Eye, and much more. By the time we arrived at the Tower of London, however, the light drizzle on a balmy evening turned into a good rain on a cold night. Knowing that we could soon return to our warm hotel room, we endured. We sat on the top of the bus at the back until the teeth-chattering chilly end. It was great fun.
