Jennica & Matthew Geddert's Ramblings

The highlight of our Cambridge visit was a library that is only open to the public for an hour and a half per day and only allows eight visitors at a time. Although we saw Newton's apartment on a tour, it did not excite and seemed lifeless. The newly-planted apple tree outside it was over the top. But his own copy of the first edition of Philosophie Naturalis Principia Mathematica and his handwritten letter to Hooke with the famous sketch of a stone falling to the centre of the earth completely stole the show. The impact of Newton's discoveries on our lives is immeasurable and much more awe-inspiring than the beautiful fan-vaulted ceiling of the King's College chapel.
