Change of Plans: Moving to Canada
Well, we’ve settled into our lives in Pasadena nicely. Matthew has a job he really likes, we’ve made good friends, my studies are going well, and we get to spend quite a bit of time with Matthew’s family in Fresno. Out of the blue, however, we found out about the opportunity for me to teach full-time at Bethany College. Now this is exactly the sort of job I’m getting the Ph.D. for, and the job description itself did not necessarily call for a Ph.D. Hmm. The short of it is I applied, I interviewed, they offered, and I accepted. So now it’s official. I’m moving to Hepburn, Saskatchewan.

Life will be very different than in Southern California. Matthew is figuring out what he will do. I will miss living close to Matthew’s family and the friends we have made here. On the other hand, I’m really excited about my new job and living a lot closer to my family. Moving from a one bedroom apartment to a five bedroom house for the same amount of rent should be nice. Now, all I need to do is come up with material for 3 classes…
