The City of Music
This has been a city of great music and beauty for hundreds of years. Mozart was born here. Never mind that any more, mind you, because this is where Maria von Trapp is from! Scads of buses continuously run Sound of Music tours for the Japanese and American tourists. The little gazebo from the movie is locked up because apparently tourists won’t stop dancing in it and an eighty-year old woman broke her hip while attempting to jump from bench to bench just like Liesel did in the movie as she sang “I Am Sixteen Going on Seventeen.”
Okay, I confess, that’s what I was excited about too. It was one of my favorite childhood movies after all.
